CMS, Russia is pleased to invite you to our seminar, discussing the new UK Bribery Act and its influence on the Russian business:
UK Bribery Act and its implementation in Russia
Speakers: John Hammond | Senior partner, CMS, Russia David Cranfield | Partner, Head of Corporate, CMS, Russia Ernest Agayan | Senior associate, CMS, Russia Julia Fedorova | Senior associate, CMS, Russia Konstantin Kantyrev | Senior associate, CMS, Russia
The UK Bribery Act that comes into force 1 July 2011 may indeed be considered the strictest anti-corruption law in Europe. The new law will be especially important for Russia, where corruption is an ongoing issue and fighting it has not always been successful. Because of the laws extraterritorial application, all foreign companies that conduct business in the United Kingdom will be affected, irrespective of where they are incorporated.
Key issues to be discussed:
— UK Bribery Act: what does it mean for British, foreign and Russian companies operating in Russia?
— The implementation of internal compliance systems: CMS experience and best practices
— How to detect corruption schemes in Russia and minimise your exposure?
— Internal Investigation
Thursday, 2 June 2011, 9.00 to 11.00 a.m. CMS office, 11 Gogolevsky Boulevard, 6th floor, 119019 Moscow, Russia
8.30 – Registration/coffee 9.00-11.00 – Presentations 11.00 – Q&A session
